shel003 Posted October 6, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 6, 2019 I was wondering if anyone ever used the Hop on Hop off buses for shore excursions in Oslo or Amsterdam? The website states that they are wheelchair accessible, but was wondering if this is truly the case? Is it true of all buses or a select few? How was your experience using them? Do you think that it is a good economical way to do excursions in these ports? In Amsterdam, my ship is docking in Rotterdam and I will be taking a ship shore excursion "Amsterdam on you own" that is wheelchair accessible and dropping us off somewhere downtown. Hoping to use the HOHO bus to easily get around the city to see some of the sights.
Ine Posted October 6, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 6, 2019 (edited) If possible better take a boattour in Amsterdam. Either a regular canalboattour of about one hour or maybe the hopon off boat. Since Amsterdam has many narrow busy streets the hoponoff bus cannot come to some places. Also I amo not sure if it is wheelchair accesable. Why not send them an email with your questions? https://www.citysightseeingamsterdam.nl/en/tickets/hop-on-hop-off-bus-plus-boat-combination-24-h/ Also check this website for some more information about tours: https://www.accessibletravelnl.com/destinations/Amsterdam Edited October 6, 2019 by Ine

I was planning on doing a canal boat tour as well as the HOHO bus. The HOHO boat is not wheelchair accessible. I checked the website for the HOHO bus and it says "most buses are equiped with easy access for disabled persons or persons with limited mobility". Still would like to hear from people who have actually tried it as what the website says vs personal experience can be very different. The other website you provided was helpful. Loved that you can take a virtual tour of the Anne Frank House. Originally wasn't planning on going because I knew it wasn't very accessible, but now may stop by!
