Cozumel, Grand Princess Jan 21 trip

We booked a shore excursion here - Mexican cooking and tasting at Playa Mia that was fantastic.

Along with being the best meal we had all week (and I am no cook) it was a great deal of fun. The tour included free beverages for the duration of the tour. The cooking (three course meal) took about 2 hours to prepare and eat and was followed by a beach break at this lovely resort area. There is also a small zoo are with monkeys and iguanas and a row of shops on the way in. This tour books up very quickly, so if you are interested, book it online before the cruise.

The people of Cozumel are so appreciative that the tourists are returning and they are working like crazy to repair the area. The tourist areas have been repaired, but there is still a lot of work to be done. If you watch when you are driving along the main roads, you can see where they have just had time to bulldoze much of the debris into the side roads and jungle areas.

I don't know if Chankanaab park is open, but it looks to be in pretty bad shape. The piers that existed are just rubble now, so this has become a tender port, but the tenders are working very efficiently and the wait and trip back to the ship is under 15 minutes.
