lcookie Posted October 22, 2019 Author #76 Share Posted October 22, 2019 (edited) WE'RE ON A BOAT!!! So after letting the little one in on the plot, we headed to the offsite parking lot to catch our shuttle to the port. She was all smiles for the next 2 hours easy. Not to be outdone Mama and I were ready for this cruise also. Edited October 22, 2019 by lcookie
lcookie Posted October 22, 2019 Author #77 Share Posted October 22, 2019 We used Park Port Canaveral for our stay. They have reasonable rates and I even scored a discount. The lot is also paved. It is fenced off, but I am not sure if it is 100% secure since it is attached to the Radisson Resort. On the shuttle The sign everyone wants to see One thing I give this port that the others don't have is their traffic control is on point!

lcookie Posted October 22, 2019 Author #79 Share Posted October 22, 2019 This by far was the latest time we ever arrived to check in. I bet there wasn't another 20 people that boarded after us. Getting there late did have it's advantage. We walked right in to the check in window and were headed to the gangway all within about 10 minutes. No need to take a break in these chairs. There's that smile yet again! I even cracked a little smile. Yeah - There she is! However, I do think I make her look better 🤣

lcookie Posted October 22, 2019 Author #81 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Still Smiling! I am use to the bigger ships where they usher you right into the action of the atrium; however, on this ship that had everyone walk to the aft of the ship before entering. This kinda ruined it for me, because one of my favorite things is seeing all the glitz and glamor when I step on the ship. In this case we just walked into a hallway 😔. ZERO WOW FACTOR! We did get to see our muster station on the way in though
lcookie Posted October 22, 2019 Author #82 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Photo Gallery Bar One thing I dislike about the bigger boats is some have removed the floor to ceiling glass elevators. I an here to report that the Sun has this and a skylight to boot. Score 1 for the team.
lcookie Posted October 22, 2019 Author #83 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Another perk of arriving late was that our room was ready for us to drop off our bags. Let me show you how it's done Old Man! First shot without a smile! It did not last long! Side Note - I think cruise ships are the only place where a bathroom selfie gets a pass. It was now about 2:15 so we headed up to the buffet to grab a bite before the muster drill at 3:00. Soon as we sat down with our food they made the announcement and started ushering people to their muster stations. Bare in mind it is only 2:30. We scarf down our food and head to deck 6 starboard. I felt this was a little earlier than normal to start prepping for the assembly but what was I to do??? After the drill we always hang out and let the masses clear out! lcookie Posted October 22, 2019 Author #84 Share Posted October 22, 2019 After the crowds we headed back to the room. ADA muster assembly station I think. lcookie Posted October 22, 2019 Author #85 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Only 1 bag had shown up by time sail away rolled around. Mama and I went up top. The little one wanted to enjoy the bed! We were ship 3 to leave the harbor. The wind was so strong the ships were headed in a diagonal to stay inside the markers.

lcookie Posted October 22, 2019 Author #87 Share Posted October 22, 2019 As we sailed away the party was going full force on the pool deck. We did not linger. We headed down to the room for a quick nap.

lcookie Posted October 22, 2019 Author #89 Share Posted October 22, 2019 After our siesta lil bits and I went on an adventire to the scavenger hunt and gift shop. We then walked the ship a little before headed to dinner. Mama was over done and had already called it a night. lcookie Posted October 22, 2019 Author #90 Share Posted October 22, 2019 Dinner was quaint and what I expected for the most part; however, I was a little disappointed in the menu. It was lacking some of the basic options I have grown accustom to. Needless to say we did not leave hungry. I was more than ready to enjoy their dress down policy also. One of her favorite things to do is sample the various offerings on the menu. She has a very refined palate for her age. .

lcookie Posted October 28, 2019 Author #93 Share Posted October 28, 2019 Key West Bound! Here we are now on Day 2 of the cruise and I am up to my regular antics. Up at the crack of dawn to catch the sunrise. Back in the days I said "I am not going to do it", my body naturally wakes me up so I quit fighting the urge. It is like a game to me now. The question for the day is will I get a full sunrise or will the clouds block it out. Loving the contrast between the water and the sky. My chariot if ever needed. Glad it's a tender boat - They have more room Clouds won out today Obligatory Morning Selfie!
lcookie Posted October 28, 2019 Author #94 Share Posted October 28, 2019 Due to the low cloud cover the extended sunrise took about 30 minutes. No biggie - I got nothing but time. Afterwards I went to the MDR to get what I like to call "Real Breakfast". We ae dinner at "Four Seasons" and would do so for the remainder of the cruses as I wanted to dress down, so this was my time to check out 'Seven Seas" I tend to dine alone most mornings. Starters The meal I always forget to tell them I want my grits with my main meal so I either have to eat them early or have cold grits. This day I opted for lukewarm grits. Not a knock on Norwegian. Just my oversight. The fruit on the other hand looked and tasted like it had been prepared too far in advance of breakfast. Here is the breakfast menu
lcookie Posted October 28, 2019 Author #95 Share Posted October 28, 2019 After breakfast I walked the ship for a while and then went to get the girls up to eat. After sunrise selfie Always fascinated by the deep blue color of the water.
lcookie Posted October 28, 2019 Author #96 Share Posted October 28, 2019 Of course the ladies were still in their slumber when I got back to the room. I woke them up with plans for them to get some "Real Breakfast" as well. Unfortunately, they took just a little too long and the MDR was closed. Buffet Here We Come! Did I mention this was the smallest buffet ever? Well it really was and inside seating was limited for the number of passengers. They did have an open air component that was nice and seemed to be just as big as the indoor area. The only problem out there is weather can dampen the spirits and if you don't get a covered table the sun will literally melt you.
lcookie Posted October 28, 2019 Author #97 Share Posted October 28, 2019 Pretty Girl and Pretty Water - Match made for vacation! Now that we had started rounding the tip of Florida, the seas were calmer since the outer islands were there to buffer the straight line winds of the atlantic.
