Rare Redsky5292 Posted October 16, 2019 #1 Share Posted October 16, 2019 Morning! We are sailing on the Brilliance of the Seas in April with our 6 year old b/g Twins. We have sailed on NCL's Breakaway ship with them twice in the past and have used Splash Academy when on board, the Twins loved it! Can anyone give me information regarding the Adventure Ocean Program on RC? For instance, do we need to sign the Twins up before we get on board or do we do that once we embark? Any information you have regarding the program will be very helpful! Thank you!
Clarea Posted October 16, 2019 #2 Share Posted October 16, 2019 Sign up is after you board. Do it as soon as possible (see Cruise Compass (daily schedule) for signup times) on day 1. There are usually some AO staff in the check-in area before you board handing out lanyards for children - they will have info on signup time and location. philbel Posted October 16, 2019 #3 Share Posted October 16, 2019 Our Son has done adventure ocean on Brilliance for 2 past cruises. It is small but the kids still all had a great time. Just before you board near the gangway you must stop by a desk to get their muster station wristbands. Adventure Ocean is generally open for signup as soon as you board so we always pop up there first to get it done before battling the Windjammer crowds. We don’t sail with NCL anymore as we find RC has a much better set-up all round for catering to kids
LeesSummitCruiser1 Posted October 16, 2019 #4 Share Posted October 16, 2019 My daughter loved AO at 6, we could not drag her out of there. She also liked the late night movie time (@$10/hour). The do science stuff, art stuff and sports. On shore days they will keep them and feed them lunch and on formal night you can drop off early and they take them to Johnny Rockets for dinner at no additional charge. By 8 my daughter was bored because the program was the same every sailing. It is a great program if you kids have never experienced it.
Jimnbigd Posted October 16, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 16, 2019 When you sign up, have everyone come that needs sign-in / sign-out privileges. Also, while not required, it is nice to tip the AO counselors the last full day -- $5 or $10 is fine per child. You might hand the money to the child and have the child tip the counselor (while you watch of course).
