cruzin Phillis Posted October 18, 2019 Author #51 Share Posted October 18, 2019 (edited) Day 4- 1st port stop, Jamaica (Montego Bay) Funtimes: This was me and hubby 4th time here. We have done the dunns, tour Appleton, bobsled like a jamaican, and did the food tour like foodies. So we wanted something that was easy, and relaxing for us and the kids. Handicap Accessible Internet access at the internet cafe - touch base with family and friends. Internet Cafe is located by the lobby Resort for a Day Experience: Enjoy a Resort for a Day pass at Hilton Rose Hall - an all inclusive beachfront resort. Choose the way you want to spend your day in port with all the options at this resort! Relax on the newly expanded private beach, kayak along the surf, or get in on the action at the Sugar Mill Falls Water Park. Kids will thoroughly enjoy the jungle garden – complete with a rope-and-wood suspension bridge. Dine at one of three lunch venues and two swim-up pool bars. Immerse yourself in peaceful solitude or spend time having a blast with family and friends. Now that’s what we call the perfect daycation to add to a cruise vacation! Resort Description: Hilton Rose Hall Montego Bay is an all inclusive beachfront hotel, once a legendary 18th-century sugar plantation, evokes historic Jamaican charm and hospitality. There are picturesque cascading waterfalls, three terraced pools, relaxing lagoons, a 280-foot waterslide, and a lazy river. Getting There: Deluxe motor coach transportation is included from the cruise ports of Montego Bay and Falmouth Jamaica; the resort is a convenient 25 minute ride from either port. The shuttle departs 45 minutes after your cruise ship arrival time and picks you back up 2 hours prior to your cruise ship departure time. For ships arriving at 7:30am and earlier (local Jamaica time), the shuttle will depart at 8:30am (local Jamaica time) Edited October 18, 2019 by cruzin Phillis
cruzin Phillis Posted October 18, 2019 Author #52 Share Posted October 18, 2019 MY MIL, SIL, and the BFF booked a sight seeing tour through carnival. It was a 4hr tour for 40.00 per person. I was told they stopped at places like Margaritaville, an old farm/plantation, shops, and local mom pop restaurants. Here is the info:
cruzin Phillis Posted October 18, 2019 Author #53 Share Posted October 18, 2019 We arrived at 8am. We were up and eating a light breakfast. Someone is ready for fun: We exited the ship and proceeded through the terminal It was very humid outside. We had to walk through the terminal to the other side, then head right all the way to the end on the driveway. We checked in with the rep and waited, and waited, and waited. After waiting for 50 minutes, I asked what time we would leave. I was informed in about 10 minutes. So 20 minutes later she called for the bus. We loaded up and off we went into the best worst traffic ever. They drive on the left side and as they say in Jamaica, "The left side is the ride side and the right side is suicide." Here are pics of the drive to Hilton Rose Hall: Bidding Vista adieu for the day: Burger King KFC Random Pics:
marci4tony Posted October 18, 2019 #54 Share Posted October 18, 2019 We were also torn with what to do in Jamaica - So we booked a "boogie board down the river" tour - I expect the water to be brisk, but its something we've never done, and its way out of the ordinary! Your description of Jam driving is just like I remembered it! Glad you made it home ALIVE!! Mwah-haw-haw!

The worst was on the way to appleton estate where I thought I would need xanax after that ride!!!
cruzin Phillis Posted October 18, 2019 Author #56 Share Posted October 18, 2019 After 30 minutes, we were pulling up to the resort. The grounds were beautiful. We pulled up to the front entrance and gallop to a screeching halt. The day pass check in line was slow. 1 person processing 30 people. About 20 minutes later, 2 other ladies walked over to help. Soon we had our wrist bands and gleefully headed out to the right...no,no, to the left. Ok, how do we get to the beach area??? We had to search for someone to help us find our way. One ride down the elevators and we arrived.... to paradise!!!

cruzin Phillis Posted October 18, 2019 Author #61 Share Posted October 18, 2019 Breeze was blowing, drinks were flowing. Life was good. It was not crowded at all. Shaded places were everywhere. We swam the lazy river, and slid the slides. Now it was food time and I wanted authentic jerk food. So I found the jerk hut. They offered jerk pork and jerk chicken as much as you want. I was stuff and sleepy!! My little one beat me to it!!!

cruzin Phillis Posted October 18, 2019 Author #63 Share Posted October 18, 2019 And like that, it was time to bid adieu. We spent about 4 hrs at the resort. The driver arrived on time at 2:30pm to pick us up. As we arrived back to the terminal. I ssw rain coming near by. I thought, great here we go again: We had a long line to wait in for boarding the ship. With the ship departing, it was clear sailing from here. Bye Jamaica..see you soon....well maybe in another 3, 4 years!!

cruzin Phillis Posted October 19, 2019 Author #75 Share Posted October 19, 2019 This was a very nonchalant day. We just walked around in and out of shops. Nothing too big. We been here before where we went to Hell, played with stingrays, and danced along the 7 mile beach: It was hot so we decided to get some lemonade: We decided to head back to the ship. It was around 11am. I grabbed a Mojito while the hubby and boys went for a nap. I went up deck for sail away: Oh look, my yacht is following us
