Difficulty getting taxi? Thanks for any information. Everything was excellent as always when embarking or disembarking from Barcelona. superbly organised. Plentiful taxis lined up €39 flat rate to and from airport which is about 20 minutes away. A few decent outlets including a wine shop in the terminal. We normally get to the port about 10.30 and are always onboard by 11.09 Hope this helps.

We’ve flew in the same day usually arriving in Barcelona about 09.30 are cleared customs and in a taxi ( they are plentiful ) by 10.00 and at the port about twenty minutes later. When we pre stay before the cruise we’ve normally stayed at Hotel Jazz and can highly recommend it. You can usually get a decent deal there including an excellent buffet breakfast either booking direct with the hotel or from the many hotel booking web sites. Superbly situated hotel rooftop swimming pool with excellent staff sun deck bar and bistro. About a fifteen minutes taxi ride to the port.
Rare steamboats Posted October 22, 2019 #5 Share Posted October 22, 2019 I read reports from cruisers disembarking last weekend. One ship (MSC) did get in late in the evening (instead of an overnight stop). Most ships disembarking did get the people to the airport starting by 5 am to avoid the unrest. All flights by Iberia and Vueling were cancelled. Other airlines were not affected. There was no public transportation available at the airport. I haven´t read anything about taxis. The port area itself is safe. I had friends with a shore stop in Barcelona last weekend and they didn´t leave the ship. steamboats
bobvb22 Posted October 22, 2019 #6 Share Posted October 22, 2019 We had no problem getting a taxi when we arrived to Barcelona. Plenty waiting out front. We just came back Sunday. We were worried getting from Ship to Airport due to issues in Barcelona last week. But no problem at all. We took RCCL transportation back to airport. Alot of lines in Barcelona airport, between checkin, security etc. We had 3 hours from arrival at airport to flight, and needed most of that time to get to our gate. My concern for anyone right now, would be staying in Barcelona while the unrest is occurring. Sounds like La Rambla and that area (which is very close to the port) had alot of uprising issues. Be safe
Norwich Cruiser Posted October 22, 2019 #7 Share Posted October 22, 2019 If you take a taxi when disembarking it will definitely be much cheaper easier and quicker than a RCCL bus transfer. There are always loads of taxis waiting to transport you to the airport or your hotel. The cost to Barcelona El Prat airport is €39.
rowala Posted October 24, 2019 #8 Share Posted October 24, 2019 Can anyone provide thoughts as to staying at the Barcelona Hilton for 3 days before a cruise as far as the location and the quality of the hotel? It seems to be a bit off the beaten path. Are we better off being closer to Las Ramblas? We are good walkers. Thanks.

We’ve never stayed at the Hilton Barcelona (normally stay at Hotel Jazz) but have never stayed at a bad Hilton hotel when we’ve stayed at one. This Hilton albeit a little way out looks a very good hotel. I could also recommend Eurostar Grand Marina we’ve stayed there once which is much better positioned than the Hilton.
