Diving Knives

Just for y'alls info (I hadn't seen any posted threads), I called NCL and NO weapons (including diving knives) are allowed on board. They won't even hold them in your dive bag till you leave the ship. They will be confiscated. I'll pray for no entanglements.:(

One of the downsides of cruise diving. Now you'll have to do it the old fashioned way....rely on your buddy:D.

Actually, I packed a small blunt ended dive knife in my equipment bag last year on a ten day cruise aboard the Spirit. I like having one simply to have something to bang on my tank to alert my wife when I see something interesting. I had no problem getting my dive bag, along with the rest of my luggage aboard and up to my cabin, and for that matter, off the ship at our first port wchich I recall was Barbados. On the way back aboard, security xrayed my bag, noticed the knife and confiscated it. The head of ship security simply told me they would hold it for me and I could request it each morning as I left the ship fin the ports I was scheduled to dive in. The procedure worked just fine. The last night of the cruise, I went down to the front desk, asked for the knife, and within about ten minutes, it was returned to me without any problem.;)
