Anyone stay at LaQuinta Inn and Suites Ft Lauderdale Airport?

Has anyone stayed here? Thoughts? Is it close to some place we can walk to for dinner? It seems to have good reviews and it has an airport shuttle, we will then get transportation to our cruise in Miami...Thanks!

I have stayed there pre-cruise three times (spring 2016, 2017, and 2018) and have reservations for pre-cruise March 2020. Drove the first two times so had a car to drive to restaurant; third time flew in late in evening, so I don't have personal experience walking to any of the nearby restaurants - none are like right next door though.

 

If you put the address in google maps, you can search for nearby restaurants and it will give you routes and walking times.

Thanks, I did google map search before and looks like we can walk to places...just wasnt sure if it was easy to walk to or not so was looking for people's experience. We are flying in late afternoon, so just really need a decent place to sleep and somewhere to eat dinner:) Thanks for the feedback!

We've stayed here twice.  Had no problem walking to dinner.  We also walked up to Oakwood Plaza for shopping.  We really liked Millers Ale House and Sals Italian Restorante.  The hotel was nice.  Staff friendly.  Nice pool area.  Shuttle to airport.  It is a bit isolated on a lake but lots of street lights and seemed safe to walk at night.
