I'm sure this is redundant

Recommended Posts

I haven't been here for a while and am wondering why the box at the bottom only shows the mods and not the members that are online.

I am too lazy to search if this has been asked before.

And since there are endless threads on every other boring subject under the sun; I decided to add my boring question to the boring question list.

For example;

How early can I board? And why the heck can't the damn crew move faster so I can get on the damn ship NOW?

How early can I get off? And what color tag do I have to steal to get off first?

The ship docks at 8AM and I have a 8:15AM flight. Am I giving myself enough time?

How many formal nights, and do I REALLY have to dress formally? No blue jeans in the dining room EVER??? You have got to be kidding!!!!

Can I bring every bottle of every type of booze ever known to man on board?

I have never cruised RCI before, only Princess or Carnival or NCL. Give me an ENTIRE ten page synopisis of the difference between the two.

I'm nine months pregnant, should I cruise?

I am bringing a 3 day old infant. Will I have a great time? Will the people at my table be incredibly understanding? Will the people on either side of my cabin be incredibly understanding?

I am bringing a group of surly, rebellious teens and putting them in a room of their own because I really don't want to deal with it. Will RCI take total responsibility for their entertainment and safety?

I missed a port due to an earthquake that destroyed the entire country along with the entire population of the place that RCI listed as a port. Do I get my entire fare back? And if not, why not?

If RCI sends me my documents and I don't do the moronic "doc dance", will I be denied boarding?

Well that is a partial list of some of my faves.

So anyway, what happened to the who is logged in box?

If it doesn't ever come back, can I sue?

Can someone teach me a good way to find my previous posts? I always used to click on my own name in that box. It's time to think OUT of the box, I guess. I'm tired of scrolling through all the posts until I find one with the "you've posted in this thread" symbol.

And Sable, am I allowed to throw a towel and book overboard because I haven't seen anyone in that seat for at least 2 minutes now? ;)

Thanks guys.

I would also love to cruise with anyone that got it.

So youse also are a tad peeved with the same old same old?

Well, ya just gotta sort of tweak them silly threads.

You might find that there are a few more people here that like to have fun.

Hiya Sable! :D Gotta love that post! They've been tweaking the boards again. They seem to run faster and time out less often when all the names at the bottom aren't showing.

Can I sue if I don't get a towel animal every night? What if I leave something behind and don't want to take personal responsibility for it? Can I blame the entire cruiseline? ;)

Sable ...I'm fairly new but let's see if I got it yet...

How early can I board? Not soon enough And why the heck can't the damn crew move faster so I can get on the damn ship NOW? Because they are too busy counting their tips and using their prepaid phone cards while ignoring the bed spreads and throwing aways people's old underwear and over-the-door shoe pockets used to store stuff in the bathroom

How early can I get off? If you drink everything you bring on with you you will have no luggage to carry off so you can leave whenever you want. And what color tag do I have to steal to get off first? The Captain's cute...date him a few times and you can disembark whenever you want!

The ship docks at 8AM and I have a 8:15AM flight. Am I giving myself enough time? Plenty...see previous answer...I'm sure the captain can arrange use of the heliport. Besides, if you miss your flight RC has insurance and I am sure they can cover it...they owe you.

How many formal nights, and do I REALLY have to dress formally? No blue jeans in the dining room EVER??? You have got to be kidding!!!! Remember, it only says jacket and tie, no pants are required. If you must wear pants try black jeans with a tee shirt that looks like a tuxedo (but be sure it has been washed a few thousand times so that the silk screen doesn't look so new).

Can I bring every bottle of every type of booze ever known to man on board? Yes, but be sure to hide it in your check through and remember the 50 pound limit...you should be fine with 16 pairs of shoes, a jacket, a tie, a swim suit and the rest can be liquor. Be sure to tip your waiter on the first night and he will waive the corkage. Alternatively, if you do the date the captain thing, liquor and corkage will not be an issue.

I have never cruised RCI before, only Princess or Carnival or NCL. Give me an ENTIRE ten page synopisis of the difference between the two. I've condensed it to 3 words: active, geriatric, deceased.

I'm nine months pregnant, should I cruise? That's why the ship has a hospital and the whirlpool could be used as a birthing pool. Tequila is better than an epidermal anyday. (however, please note, pregnancy may jeopardize you dating the captain which may effect alcohol consumption and disembarkation times.

I am bringing a 3 day old infant. Will I have a great time? Sure...just be sure to leave enough diapers with her at the child care center...and remember to pick her up before you disembark. Will the people at my table be incredibly understanding? Non-issue...she'll never be at the table with you. Will the people on either side of my cabin be incredibly understanding? Don't worry, they will either be too drunk to hear her or the noise from their balcony shenanigans will muffle it out. It your baby cries too much they will have a good excuse to go to the casino.

I am bringing a group of surly, rebellious teens and putting them in a room of their own because I really don't want to deal with it. Will RCI take total responsibility for their entertainment and safety? Absolutely. And if anyone ever complains about them be sure to go to the purser and tell him/her that these people or cruise staff member embarassed your children and you and ruined your cruise, so you should all be entitled to a free cruise.

I missed a port due to an earthquake that destroyed the entire country along with the entire population of the place that RCI listed as a port. Do I get my entire fare back? And if not, why not? Need more information...did you buy the insurance?

If RCI sends me my documents and I don't do the moronic "doc dance", will I be denied boarding? If you already printed your Set Sail pass, no. If, however, you didn't print your set sail pass you will be denied boarding until the last minute when all of the good dining room tables will be gone, the spa appointments will be gone, the reservations at Portofino's and Chops will be gone and your main dining room waiter and room steward will be annoyed that you didn't get there early enough to give them an advance tip.

Well that is a partial list of some of my faves.

So anyway, what happened to the who is logged in box? Without it the bb runs faster?!?!?

If it doesn't ever come back, can I sue? I know a good attorney...but you may want to hire a forensic specialist first.

Tremendous post, sable.

However, you forgot some questions:

"will my cell phone work on the ship?"

(and the subsequent two dozen posts on the rudeness and insensitivity of cell phone users)

"did anyone notice malfunctioning toilets, raw sewage, poopy smell, etc. on (insert ship name here)?"

"who sucks worse, Carnival or RCI, or do they suck equally?"

"if I happen to get murdered and tossed overboard during my cruise,

will RCI reimburse my widow for my unused portion of the cruise?"

"is it true that syrup of ipecac is a good remedy for seasickness?"

Ok follow along. I'm sure there is an easier way but this will work. Answer someone's post. Go back to the list of topics and find the post you answered. It should be near the top of the list. It should show your name as the last person to respond. If it does click on your name. It will take you to a page that shows stuff about you..:) scroll down to where it says find all post by "you" your screen name will be there, lol. Click on find all posts. Alist of all your posts will appear. Now is the really complicated part. With that list of posts showing, save that screen in your favorites or bookmarks or whatever you call things you want to find again. When you want to find that screen just go to your favorites...:) Once this is done they are easy to find.

Can someone tell me how much a taxi will cost?

I am flying into Tampa on Saturday, picking up a friend at Port Canaveral, staying at the Holiday Inn Bayside in Miami, and then Sunday our group of 13 will need to get to the port in Ft. Lauderdale. Will we fit in a cab with all of our luggage?

Thanks for your help! Just trying to get my budget figured out. :)

Sable,

Are those GSD's ears up now? :)

T

Years ago I had a puppy that had an ear problem. One went up and the other stayed down.

So we brought him to the breeder for the cure.

Actually my SO brought him so I didn't know what exactly they did until he walked in the door.

I tried so hard not to laugh because I knew the dog realized how ridiculous he looked.

Picture a GSD conehead.

The breeder used pink foam rollers to form a pyramid and then taped both ears to them to form a point.

I couldn't help my self. I did manage not to actually roll on the floor, but it was close. And that poor pup knew I was laughing at him and not with him.
