JGB Posted February 2, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 2, 2006 O.K. past cruisers can you tell me if the Spirit actually left at 4 p.m. as their brochure states? Was the boat drill before, during or after sailing. John
bills blasters Posted February 2, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 2, 2006 We were on the Spirit less than a year ago. Yes, it left shortly after 4:00. The drill was shortly after we left. We loved the Spirit. Seemed to be just the right size, and very nice and friendly crew.
wheels afloat Posted February 2, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 2, 2006 Our group sailed Spirit 1/3/06. Lifeboat drill was just prior to sailaway, and the ship was moving as we got back to our cabin right on time. Had a good cruise, but really recommend the Nouveau Supper Club. Did it on Acapulco nite and it felt like we were the only ones to enjoy a great dinner and a very nice duo to dance between courses and afterward. Hope your cruise is smooth sailing. lstrong Posted February 2, 2006 #4 Share Posted February 2, 2006 Does the Spirit have a sail-away party, or does it just take off during the drill?
number1cruiser Posted February 2, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 2, 2006 I have been on the Spirit 3 times. 2 times out of San Diego, it left after the boat drill. Had enough time to go drop off our life jackets and go up for the sail away. When we left out of Vancover to Alaska, the ship left during the drill, and also left 20 minutes early. There was no live music on any of the 3 sail away's. Number1cruiser
manitoba girl Posted February 2, 2006 #6 Share Posted February 2, 2006 we did it last year too. The Muster Drill was started shortly after 4 and we were moving slowly out of the port as we were completing it. no there was no sail away party but you an always make your own. we did the supper club this time on the night we were in Acapulco too.No one else was there. it was way too much food but I had to try the flourless cake( to die for).If you want free spa treatments... as soon as you get on ,even before you go to your cabin to drop off carry-ons , or even go to the Lido for lunch... go the spa and ask them if they need any volunteers. I did and got the isothermie detox for three hours for Free!!!!Lost a tonne of inches and a few pounds...It all came back in two days.Glad I didn't pay for it..LOL
Wennfred Posted February 2, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 2, 2006 ask them if they need any volunteers. Volunteers for what? I thought that the purpose to hit the cruise was to relax and get away from work lol. :)
