buckeyefrank Posted December 4, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 4, 2019 We are cruising next year on NCL and have a father / son with the same name going. The Jr is boarding with BC / DL and his DL shows Jr. Do they need to add the Jr, Sr designations or not? I'm guessing no but thought I would pose the question. TIA Their name MUST match their passport. If the name on the reservation does not match the passport, you may be refused boarding on the day if your cruise. Bubbleblower21 Posted December 4, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 4, 2019 They will add it - but that doesn’t mean it will help. I have a Jr and a III in my family. Both were on our confirmations but NCL still didn’t see the III when we checked in to board. They were confused and even with different birthdates they were still confused but we boarded without issue once they reviewed everything. To be safe - have them add it. As a side note - they seem to be more stringent on cruises where the passport is required vs the closed loop where a DL/birth certificate is adequate. TIA Definitely add it and make sure when you check in it is correct on your key card. My son is a jr and a few years ago their names got mixed up and we didn’t know until my husband went to the casino and they told him he couldn’t play because he wasn’t 18 lol obviously they looked at him and realized it was a mistake but better making sure it is correct from the start. Had to wait on line a guest services to have it fixed
buckeyefrank Posted December 4, 2019 Author #5 Share Posted December 4, 2019 Thanks everyone for the information. I will go ahead and have them add the titles onto their reservation to be safe. They are both using DL / BC and they are both WAY over 18 🙂 so there won't be any issues for gambling or drinking. Thanks all,
