June 21 Anchorage Longest Day of Year

We will be in Anchorage on June 21, the longest day of the year. Sail from Whittier on the Carnival Spirit at 9PM. Are there any festivities planned in any of the 3 locations for the event? Anybody "been there, done that". I think it is so cool and very "Alaska".:confused:

There's usually some sort of a celebration downtown on the parkstrip between 9th and 11th avenue. Local food, music, etc. It might even be listed now on http://www.anchorage.net
