We will be in Charlotte Amalie, St. Thomas on Dec. 24 from 8 am-5 pm off Celebrity Equinox and are wanting to explore on our own. We are interested in Paradise Point Skyride and were wondering how close it is to the cruise ship dock. Can we walk or do we need to get a cab? What else would you suggest doing on your own in St. Thomas?

A new water shuttle started up this month, harborhoppervi.com, and you can get to town or the other dock via the water for $5 per person each way. Very nice! Paradise Point is across the street from Havensight dock so it's a very short walk once you get off the harbor Hopper.

We are heading to St. Thomas beginning in April via Carnival ship, we are debate on during this on our port day, thoughts? we plan to just relax in town for the day and do some shopping. Worth doing?

I think it's a do it once and you're probably done. We did ride up and the views are really nice. We probably won't do it again, unless we are really looking for something to do.

We docked at havensight last month. Short walk but it’s a busy road
