Worth a look at World First , their online medical screening is quite thorough so it does not instantly reject you for one bad word but looks in more depth as to whether a condition is a real problem to you. Pensioncruiser Posted December 11, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 11, 2019 A lot will depend on any ongoing treatment, we use the Nationwide insurance through the bank, and having declared all the details and because no ongoing treatment we do not have to pay any premium other than the age increase and for cholesterol. So that's the £13pm plus about £150.

I have been using this company for a few years now, The screening is done on-line and if they need any more info they will give you a call, they offer a good level of cover with additional cruise cover if required at a decent price, I had to make a claim last August following a heart scare and they were brilliant. The claim was settled in full in a timely manner and to be honest I wasn't expecting it to go through so smoothly. Also the overseas medical assistance is pretty good as they give you an emergency telephone number to give to the overseas medical provider/hospital and once the insurance company is contacted they take over. Hope this helps. .https://www.travelinsurance4medical.co.uk/ Edited December 11, 2019 by Brummijam spelling
rojojacko Posted December 12, 2019 #5 Share Posted December 12, 2019 We too are with Nationwide and they paid out in full for initial treatment abroad when my wife developed cancer and for a subsequently cancelled cruise. The initial diagnosis is now 12 months ago and the operation 10 months ago and all is well now with periodic monitoring. Nationwide continue to cover her for everything except for conditions related to that cancer and will fully cover her 12 months after the operation as it hasn't recurred. To cover that condition we took out an annual policy with AXA which covers her with this disclosed condition but we decided to exclude North America due to the high cost. The Nationwide insurance is £13 per month for both of us but also includes vehicle breakdown and mobile phone cover and the AXA policy was £105 for 12 months We are both in our late 60's. We hope that this helps. Rob

Tony1878 Posted December 21, 2019 #9 Share Posted December 21, 2019 My better half had treatment this time last year, we got a policy for months from World first for £120, which i thought was a great deal considering. We were absolutely honest on the form, she takes tablets for blood pressure etc and the Cancer treatment.
