Independence MDR menu- British?

Recommended Posts

Question for anyone who has sailed on Independence since she recently moved back from the UK. Does the menu in the MDR still reflect the British fare offered for UK sailings? If so, can you give a review? My husband is a fairly picky eater (he had radiation and chemo that affected his taste and ability to swallow), so we are considering the unlimited dining package for our sailing this Saturday. Thanks!

I have never known particularly British fare in the MDR even when in the U.K. except for maybe a special each night such as a pie or an Indian dish.

Our experience is the Windjammer is slightly different with a few of our breakfast favourites such as black pudding.

Always make me smile the curiosity of American guests with black pudding until the google it. Have to say as a Brit I am not keen....

Just off Independence last week and the only British item was fish and chips one night. You can download RCLs app and it shows menus. In my past 3 cruises the menus were right on the app just in a different order than it showed. Have a wonderful cruise, she’s my favorite ship with out of this world crew!

Fish and ships on deck for scampi or fish and chips.

The only real British food is British bacon at breakfast.

We sail regularly from Southampton (Independence and Explorer) this year as well as Barcelona and Venice with no noticeable difference in food.

Giovanni's and chops grill menu usually the same every night we go in.
