Cancun question

I will be on the Majesty in December and have a port question. It is my understanding that in Cozumel it is possible to get over to Cancun for the day. How does this work, how long does it take to get there, and what is the cost? Thanks!!

Yes - kind of.

 

You take the ferry from Cozumel to Playa del Carmen, which takes about 30-45 minutes. Then you can take a taxi or a bus up to Cancun which is about an hour's drive each way north of Playa del Carmen.

 

If you ask me, just wait until you have a week then spend some time in Cancun. You'll have a whole lot of traveling for not much time to see anything.

 

You can take the ferry and then grab a taxi or a tour to go to Tulum, Xel Ha, Xcaret, etc. though if you want. They're all a lot closer than Cancun.

And the ferry from Cozumel arives in Playa del Carmen. Playa may be a bit more upscale than San Miguel (Cozumel). You may want to do some internet searches about each to determine what fits your lifestyle better.
