edbro Posted December 31, 2019 #26 Share Posted December 31, 2019 I use the casino to "launder" gift cards. I have quite a few gift cards that I've purchased at a discount from AARP and I will add them to my casino account and then pull the funds out. I don't gamble but I'll probably play a few slot to make it look good.
eas2225 Posted January 2, 2020 #27 Share Posted January 2, 2020 Great! Brag about scamming the system. Then you'll be annoyed when they take away the ability to "launder" gift cards. Some have said that they were only allowed to do it once. Hope that's true.

So you buy the discounted gift cards and run them through the casino with no intention whatsoever of spending the money and just pocketing the 11.1% profit? edbro Posted January 2, 2020 #29 Share Posted January 2, 2020 Yes. I bought cards several years ago hoping to cruise more but then my wife took a new job and we are unable to go. She uses her only vacation to visit family overseas. My parents are taking me and my sisters on a cruise and I'll use this opportunity to cash out those cards. I already used one of the cards to prepurchase Cheers. I used the casino last time to cash out onboard credit I had. I get $100 credit every cruise for being a Carnival stockholder. Be careful climbing down from that high horse. I've been sitting on $2k worth of cards for over three years now. I'm not going to just put them in the trash. ParrotRob Posted January 2, 2020 #31 Share Posted January 2, 2020 Well hell, if I had known you could do that, I would have have bought $20,000 worth of gift cards before my last cruise for the discounted price of $18,000, then cashed them in for the $2000 profit and gotten my cruise for free. No wonder they're starting to put limits on the number of discounted GCs you can buy.
MT_Sea_Cruisers Posted January 2, 2020 #32 Share Posted January 2, 2020 We sailed on the Legend a few months ago. All machines take cash or transfer from either your Sail and Sign card or casino bank balance. Once funds move from sail and sign to your casino back they do not go back, Any winnings from cash inserted into the machine go toy our casino bank. You can cash out of your casino bank at any time as many times as you wish. Just take your sail and sign card to the casino cashier and let them know you are cashing out. You're right, you can't transfer them back. But you CAN cash out your casino bank, march down to guest services, and apply that cash to your S&S bill
ChristianDamon Posted January 6, 2020 #34 Share Posted January 6, 2020 I’ve got $500 of casino FunPlay money coming to me this weekend... how exactly do I use that?
Yanicka24 Posted January 6, 2020 #35 Share Posted January 6, 2020 Just a "hey this could happen".... last year on the Glory about 10pm on the last night the internet on the whole ship went down which included the casino system. We had been just playing some winnings we'd had thru the week, nothing too major... We were told to stop playing etc which we did. And we waited. Finally sometime around 1am after lots of yelling by fellow guests we were told no one could cash out anything. If you had money in your "bank" like us it would be mailed to you... it took over 6 weeks to get the check. I was glad it wasnt much but there were some folks who had a whole lot more than us... Depending on the ship you are sailing on, you will either be given cash (on our last sailing on Legend and Miracle they gave to us in cash), or it will be loaded on your player account as fun-play which you transfer to a slot machine for use (in which case, you keep winnings but can't cash out the fun-play). I believe, that table players received special chips, but am not sure as I don;t play the table games.
