Hawaiidan Posted December 30, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 30, 2019 I was wondering if anyone knows it the fresh water on the ship, converted from sea water has a high/higher sodium content? Also the filtered water no provided in staterooms...is it sodium free????? I have heard that ship waters are higher because of the conversion process. Anyone know??? Of course, there may be some minerals added back to the finish the process. Bottom line is that ship's potable water is often better than what is found in many municipal water sources. Rare pinotlover Posted December 30, 2019 #3 Share Posted December 30, 2019 We don’t know in that personally never chemically tested it. Different desalination units will often leave varying amounts of minerals in the water so to create a fresh pleasant taste for the water. Also, to totally desalinate requires more energy and process time. As mentioned above, the amounts are often lower than that from fresh water sources, but not necessarily. Just like wine, not all have the same abv, with some significant various.
