cruisingcasual Posted December 31, 2019 #1 Share Posted December 31, 2019 We are booked on a New Years cruise on the Infinity a year from now. I was wondering if anyone who was currently sailing or has done a New Years cruise could give some info on the festivities. We are very excited, first time we'll have both of our kids with us (college age, hard to get the schedules worked out!). Stops in Key West and Cozumel. We've done two NYE cruises including Infinity back in Dec 2016. And we are currently on board Solstice and (because we're near New Zealand), we are 30 min away from ringing in 2020. My wife and I brought our two college graduated kids with us. There is a lot going on right now around the ship. There is a count down going on in all the major public areas with champagne being served. A couple of gathering areas (like the Grand Foyer) have balloons stored in nets above in the ceiling. Hats and party favors were handed out at dinner time (Evening Chic dress night). We just finished playing in the casino and it was quite lively in there. Rare rimmit Posted January 4, 2020 #5 Share Posted January 4, 2020 We just booked the infinity Dec 28 2020 as well! Unfortunately my kids are a little young for yours, as they will be 11 and 5 at the time of sailing. Where did y’all choose to ring in the new year? There was no charge to attend any of the celebration venues. We were at the Grand Foyer for New Year's. Btw, in warmer climates, the main celebration venue is out in the pool deck which is nice
vikielynne Posted January 5, 2020 #7 Share Posted January 5, 2020 Just off the Infinity from NYE and had a wonderful time. Balloon drop in the Grand Foyer and Constellation Lounge with a party on the pool deck. As it was warm outside I stayed in the Grand Foyer area hanging out mostly in the Martini Bar (grabbed a seat and stayed put). I did venture to the Constellation but it felt more crowded so went back to the Martini Bar. No charge for seats and pretty easy to find one without too long a wait. There were a number of families with kids, mostly seen poolside during the days. The ship is really nice, still kept up good for her age and crew most places were great. Food in the buffet much better than I expected and service very good (no problems getting wine with lunch or dinner). Lots of entertainment - games throughout the day and evenings, really impressed with the live music, several performers that moved over the venues on the ship with a wide range of musical styles. Rare mahdnc Posted January 10, 2020 #8 Share Posted January 10, 2020 (edited) @cruisingcasual, I couldn't find this picture when I originally posted, so I thought I would do it now. I took these photos aboard Eclipse when we were ringing in 2014 three miles off the coast of Aruba. Because of the warm weather, the NYE festivities spilled out onto the pool deck. And we were treated to one heck of a fireworks display by Aruba. Edited January 10, 2020 by mahdnc
