Anybody had success with changes to dining on embarkation day?

I'm one of those people. One of the things I love most about cruising is not having to make decisions. No "what time do you want to eat?" discussion;  No making reservations; no waiting for a table (like we have to do at home). With fixed dining, we just show us at the appointed time and go directly to our table ( after the first night, we know exactly where it is) and be served by our designated team. Beautiful simplicity.
