MIA airport - what to do before 4pm flight home

Hey helpful community,

I have never been to Miami airport so I don't know what it is like. We disembark Carnival cruise on a Saturday morning and left plenty of time to catch the flight home. My question is what to do befor we can check in? I assume 2pm is the soonest we can do that? If we book transportation to the airport from the ship will there be restarants we can access before flight checkin or will we simply be stuck in the lobby area before we can go thru TSA into the terminal where I assume there will be more to do or more comfortable places to hang out?

Appreciate any tips and advice.

thanks

Uber to the Luggage Lounge in South Beach, pay to store your bags there, and then you are free to explore.  Boozy brunch, beach, people watching, art deco architecture, etc. When ready grab the Airport Flyer bus to the airport for about $3 each! 😎

REALLY? That sounds awesome! Definitely going to have a look at that.

Thanks 😊

Miami airport can be a mess. Long lines for check in, long lines for security. If you have status with the airlines and TSA pre-check, that helps. Unfortunately, there's very little in the way of places to wait or food to eat before you go through security.

JohnindDC's suggestion is an excellent one, just be sure to allow enough time for the airport.
