rte Posted January 8, 2020 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2020 Do you have to get off the ship in Southampton when doing a B2B. Was not sure if we would have to disenbark for immigration and then get back on for second leg
grandgeezer Posted January 8, 2020 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2020 Everybody has to get off the ship. There is a procedure for people doing B2Bs that don’t want to leave the terminal area. You will be notified on how to handle it a couple days before. There are a couple of ways they do it. It just boils down to scanning your card, going into the terminal, and getting back on the ship, with your new seapass card. You may, or may not have to bring your passport. You do this as a group, there will people from the ship who will escort you off and let you know when to get back on. Normally you will be the first ones back on the ship, but not always. The last couple of B2Bs we did, for whatever reason, general boarding started just before we were let back on. Easy Peasy.
sasset Posted January 8, 2020 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2020 When we did this in April 2019, at Southhampto, nwe were on our own because Guest Relations failed to notify several of the B2B cabins of the meeting. We had time to go to Winchester, nice little place, and back to the ship in plenty of time. There was a separate check in desk for the B2Bers, no line. Previous cruise they would take the B2B's on a short shore excursion and check us back in as a group.
Northern Aurora Posted January 8, 2020 #4 Share Posted January 8, 2020 We have done several turnaround days in Southhampton. I don't remember any shore excursions offered for B2B passengers, but Southhampton is one of my favorite ports for a turnaround day as there are interesting options within walking distance of the cruise terminal. And each time we have had a turnaround day there we picked up our new seapass cards at the Pier Coordinator's desk in the cruise terminal.
