Cruising with kids

Hi there....seasoned cruisers but first time with kids.

We will be on the Harmony of the Seas with a 5 and 8 year old.  Do they have puddle jumpers or anything else to use for the pools?  Also excursions?  We are doing a couple of beach days...wondering if we should pack ours.

What is the dress code for kids for the main dining room?

Any other tips on what the kids will love?  Other than the pools, arcade and carousel. Would love any insider tips.

Thank you!!!!

So many fun things for the kids to do!!  The kids club is great too!  There is a splash area as well as kids pool area.  Also if your kids don’t swim well they have life jackets you can borrow if they want to go into the family pool.

If by "puddle jumpers" you mean life vests, yes, they have those on the pool deck.  You may NOT take them off the ship.

There is really no functional dress code any more, for anyone.  I think that everyone would appreciate general neatness, cleanliness and good behavior. Outside of that, anything goes these days.  (for adults and children)

Depending on your specific kids, you may find yourself spending hours at the carousel.  😉

The "extra" aqua theater show is lots of fun for kids.  Let them sit in the front row(s).  (a.k.a., Splash Zone).  They will probably also enjoy the ice shows.

If you intend to have them use Adventure Ocean, make sure to take them to the first session (will be in the Cruise Compass).  That is when they make friends, apparently bonding for life.  😄

AO does lots of fun activities with the kids, out and around the ship.  They don't just stay in the facility.

We brought a puddle jumper but our 4 year old mostly preferred the shallow kids pool so we could have left it at home. But if you think you need it for port activites I would bring it.

ETA: we were on Brilliance
