Can’t book an excursion before final payment?

Trying to clear something up.  A group of us is leaving on a cruise in April. All of us are paid in full except one couple who only has a $100 and change left to pay off.  The rest of us booked an excursion through the cruise ship with no issues but the couple that haven’t finished paying try to purchase an excursion and put their payment info in and the button for purchase is grayed out and can’t click it.  Carnivals website says they must be fully deposited before they can pre-purchase excursions.  Fully deposited? Is that your initial deposit has to be paid or your entire cruise balance has to be fully paid?

but it would let them purchase FTTF  and the rest of us about a year ago before any of us were paid in full. FTTF is in the shore excursion category.  

 

i even tried to gift the excursion to them and it wouldn’t let me.

This is strange - and maybe new? I regularly purchase excursions before final payment. I would suggest they send the shore excursion dept an email.

could be another wonderful glitch the carnival website is having. i was able to book an excursions for my cruise in may and final payment is due next month for my cruise

Never mind  We figured it out.   Its because they still had Carnivals trip insurance on their booking that shows as part of their deposit that hasn't been paid yet.  they are calling in the morning to their PVP to have it removed and then they should be good.

They can have there PVP, book there excursion too. Enjoy your cruise.
