muskrat897 Posted February 4, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 4, 2006 My wife and I are considering cruising on the Jewel next year on the New England/Canada itinerary. I am a full-time wheelchair-user. Are the ports fairly accessible? I am particularly concerned about the 2 tender ports: Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts and Bar Harbor, Maine. Thanks for the help. strick1042 Posted February 7, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 7, 2006 I was on the Jewel for the 10 day Canada/New England in Oct. 04 We did not stop at Marths Vineyard so I can not help you there. In Bar Harbor we tendered, but they have a "great" wheelchair lift that loweres you to the tender where you wheel right on. At the pier there is a steep ramp that one of the ships personnel pushed me up, no problem, great little town. Any other questions let me know, that was cruise 13, we did Trans Atlantic in May 05 and will due San diego to Vancouver in May 06. Have been in a chair 28 years.
