Marie Checking back in after staying at Hotel Morrison. It was okay. We would rate it about 7.5 out of 10. (we used hotel shuttle service to POM.) We’ve typically stayed at Hampton Inn Plantation and will go back to that.
SteerageJoe Posted January 29, 2020 #27 Share Posted January 29, 2020 Here is a list of new or fairly new properties that "may" fit a $250 budget: Fairfield Inn Las Olas Comfort Suites Dania Beach Wyndham Garden Dania Beach Tryp by Wyndham Home2Suites Airport Deco
backforty Posted January 29, 2020 Author #28 Share Posted January 29, 2020 I'd be willing to broaden my search radius to include Hollywood beach, Dania Beach, etc (preferably the southern end of Ft lauderdale as opposed to northern end). Still hoping for a new (2019-2020) hotel within walking distance of the beach, max $250-300. Surely there's been new hotels built along that stretch of coastline within the past year? I know Le Meridian is in Dania Beach area, but not within walking distance (what type of public transportation is available there?). The Delmar and Fairfield downtown have beach access via the sun trolley so that's an option if I can't find one within walking distance (although downside is they are twice as far from cruise terminal). I'm not interested in nightlife, bars, or shopping. I will need to eat meals (so nearby restaurants are a plus). Prefer to enjoy the natural beauty of the area (uncrowded beach, gardens, etc) as opposed to clubs and bars.
BlueHerons Posted January 29, 2020 #29 Share Posted January 29, 2020 No new hotels within walking distance of the beach in your price range this time of year. The only new things opening on the beach because of the traffic limits are super high end condos.

I had emailed beforehand and was quoted $8 pp. I replied stressing that we were going to MIAMI. Reply was yes. well when we arrived, there was a large banner stating cost was $60. more than two people $13 pp. after showing the email and a long back room discussion, they did honor our price quoted. It worked out in our favor because the van was filled with a group and they put us in an Uber. long story to say price is probably $13 pp. lol

We only chose this hotel because we intended to take SAS shuttle Cons: it was mostly clean, a few spots... hmmmm as stated in another answer, the shuttle price wasn’t clear. Pros: the price we got was very reasonable a few stores and restaurants within walking distance.
