Shots for travel

Has anyone any info' about vaccinations for the Sept 2006 itinerary below?

I have heard different comments for and against and also that some cruise lines refuse boarding if a vaccination certificate is not produced!!

I have checked web sites and am still confused. These shots are VERY expensive and I do not intend getting them if it is not a requirement.

There must be some past Panama cruisers out there, what did you do?

This is becoming a headache, maybe I should change destination!!!

Thanks.

From what I read at the CDC website and info from our TA - if you go thru Panama or Columbia within 6 days of stopping in Guatemala or Nicaragua you have to have the shots. It appears from your itinerary that you are not stopping in either of these countries and going the opposite direction so you should not need them. The cruise line should send you something if they are required or call the cruise line.

Hope this helps!

I would call the cruiseline and double check the CDC website to be sure. The cruisline might not tell you upfront, most state in the fine print that it is the passenger's responsibility to know which shots they need and to get them.

If I recall correctly, on the CDC website, if you are going to the Bahamas from Columbia or certain parts of Costa Rica, you do need certain shots (Malaria, Yellowfever?).

Luckily on my itinerary, no shots are required!
