We have sailed the Caribbean  Princess a few times and both the Regal and Royal
Looking at the Crown for a partial Panama cruise

Does the ship do the old locks?

What shape is the ship in?

Thanks ahead 😊

In terms of ship shape, it depends on when you're going. She has a dry dock scheduled in October 2020 and so far, she's been having some generator problems recently affecting the propulsion. But there haven't been many updates since they started and the problems should be resolved by the time the dry dock ends, or even well before that, hopefully.

If you've only been on the CB, Regal, and Royal, the Crown will be somewhat similar to CB in interior decor but not 100% the same. Overall, they are more similar than different. Some visual diffrences: the buffet is older, more traditional-looking (not World Fresh Marketplace). The Skywalkers is behind the funnel and not propped up on top of the stern. The piazza has different types of staircases. It does have the Medallion now, if that's important to you.

I suggest you to seek out two recent trip reports: one from geoherb of the Caribbean and one from CanadianBurger of the Crown. They give a good overview of what they're like and you can compare. Hope this helps a little!

ETA: only Coral, Island, Sea, Sun, and Pacific can go through the old locks!
