ExBC Posted February 5, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2006 We are on the Sapphire Princess which visits Hong Kong. We were thinking of going to Macau for the day. Is this feasible? Has anyone ever done this?
deck 9 001 Posted February 6, 2006 #2 Share Posted February 6, 2006 Hi ExBC, It is very feasible and do-able. The journey from HK to Macau takes only 55 min by Turbo Jet. Service is 24/7 Here is the link to their web site. http://www.turbojet.com.hk/index.htm# I do this all the time when I often go to HK. Hope this helps. dcollier Posted February 6, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 6, 2006 ExBC, Check the visa requriements. As I understand it, you would need an extra entry on your Chinese visa, since you are leaving the Hong Kong special admin region and entering China proper. You then return to Hong Kong, leaving mainland China again. Dave
ExBC Posted February 6, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted February 6, 2006 Thanks Mike and DCollier, The cruise we are going on is scheduled to start in Beijing than visit Nagasaki, Shanghai, Taipei and then HK. I believe it requires a multi-entry visa. Would a visa such as this be acceptable for Macau?
deck 9 001 Posted February 6, 2006 #5 Share Posted February 6, 2006 Hi ExBC, Below please find link to Hong Kong Visa requirements, which I hope will help you. http://www.immd.gov.hk/ehtml/hkvisas_4.htm When I go to Hong Kong I do not require a visa. I am holding an USA passport. I am able to stay in HK for 90 days. Also, if I decide to go to Macau while I am in Hong Kong, it is no problem. I pass through immigration at the Ferry Terminal and they stamp my passport as departed. For me Macau is visa free. I just fill out the entry form and give it to the immigration officials. But to be safe and sure, I recommend you check with the relative countries visa departments. Have a great cruise. Mike--in Taipei

shoshona2 Posted February 7, 2006 #7 Share Posted February 7, 2006 Go to http://www.zvs.com and ask them what you need. Their phone number is also on the website. We use Zierer for all our visas. We are going to Beijing and cruising to Korea then going to Shanghai. We have a double entry visa. We end up in Hong Kong where a Chinese visa isn't needed.
