Disembarktion

Its really different. Sometimes it takes 1 hour, sometimes 3 hours. It depends on the custom and the port authority until they have cleared the ship.

And then it could happen, that your luggage color is called to come in the terminal and you have to wait for more than one hour, until go can pass immigration and custom.

So don´t book your flight back not too early.

When the ship docks - how long before passengers are allowed to disembark. In my booklet from Pride of Aloha it says 2 hours - does it really take that long?

Our experience is that two hours is optimistic, we waited almost four hours aboard the Legend of the Seas, and three hours on the Pride of America.

We did, however, learn about a little known Freestyle Cruising "feature" on our last cruise aboard the Pride of Aloha. If you are willing to handle your own luggage, you don't have to put your bags in the passageway the night before and can disembark at any time with your luggage in tow. With the new roller luggage that can "stack", it isn't that difficult to do. We finished breakfast, packed, and left the ship when we were ready...
