Casino Games

So, I'm curious if anyone can give me a rundown of the types of games/machines available in the casino onboard (on AOS, if possible, but general to RCCL is fine too). Also, what are everyone's favorites?

The usual casino games/tables are there - slots, video poker, blackjack, craps, caribbean stud, 3 card poker, let it ride. Even though regular poker has become more popular, the casinos dont have it.

Just off explorer yesterday and they do have texas holdem but just one table.

Is it true that in international waters, the gambling age is 18? If so, my 18 year old son will be thrilled. As long as he looses his money and not mine. LOL.

Yep, it's true. My 19 year old daughter was my constant companion at the blackjack tables. A true bonding experience:rolleyes:

yep that' right age 18 to gamble-- my 19 year old daughter loves it on the ship but then hates it when we go to Fowoods(in CT.) and she can;t gamble------ 3-card poker is the best in my book--- in most casinos it is second only to blackjack in house %--- we do very well at it. We will be down to florida in --39--- days for our next cruise--Sovereign on the 20th and we can't wait!!!!!!HAPPY SAILING

For the past 3 years the casino has been my get away on the ship. Not to mention the beer or wine. It felt so nice knowing that you can't do it in the states but it is legal on the water. It will be such a shock being 21 on the cruise this year and being able to order what ever I want.

You know my son will be thrilled. He lives here in Vegas and for now, the casinos are off limits.

 

I don't have any desire to gamble on the ship, mostly because I get so much of it here, but in my son's case, he can't here so he's saving his tips/salary to play.

 

When I was younger, my dad was a slot mechanic at the Hacienda (it's gone now). We had a bar with a slot machine in the back yard and dad always said, if you play with my money, I keep the winnings, if you play with yours, you keep the winnings.

 

What a great idea! I'll play with my money and make a fortune. LOL. What dad didn't tell me and my sister is that he "rigged" the slot machine to pay out on cherries (it was a nickel machine and one cherry paid one nickel and two paid out two nickels.)... See where my get rich scheme was going? LOL

 

To make a long story short, I lost two weeks allowance. (2 dollars) and my sister lost 4 months allowance... (it took her longer to learn... haha).

 

It's one of those stories that I tell my son and it's a lesson I never forgot.
