  1. Ok, great. Thanks for the information. This is my first RCI cruise with the dynamic pricing.
  2. So what happens if you purchase it now, and the price goes down later? Too bad?
  3. If I do bring that, will it be subject to a embarkation search? 🤣
  4. Yes. You will get charged sales tax on each drink until you reach international waters, about $1-$2.
  5. They are doing it because marijuana use cuts into the onboard alcohol purchases. And maybe the smell.
  6. I have used Carnival gift cards from Kroger to pay for entire cruises. Assuming these are normal gift cards, then that cannot be right.
  7. If you are fine with suspicionless searches by the government, cool.
  8. The OP. Being pulled out of line into a separate room for questioning, and being led to believe you are not free to leave, is being detained.
  9. It is a shame that so many people are being detained without any reason. Unfortunately, the port authority can detain you long enough so that you could miss the cruise, so this is used to their advantage.
  10. They will have a different menu for Christmas night. It will also be designated as one of the "elegant" nights.
  11. Guests who are not Priority are allowed to board with their Priority cabin mate(s). That has been permissible for years and is not "sneaking" on or otherwise breaking any of Carnival's rules.
  12. When we cruised and our daughter was young (about 7 years old), we found late dinner to be preferable. She could run around most of the day, take a nap about 4 or 5, and then be ready for dinner at 8.
  13. 10:45 a.m. We were the 3rd, 4th, and 5th persons to board.
  14. If you have WiFi access you should be able to do it.
  15. I concur. Allows you to check-in from anywhere instead of making 2 trips to the maître D's desk. The app also gives you an estimate of how long the wait is.
  16. So how do the plastic water bottles they sell fit into this?
  17. Yes. If one purchases Cheers, all adults (21+) in a cabin must purchase Cheers.
  18. Working for me. Able to pull up my cruise booked for December. I will say that the site does get "weird" from time to time. I booked 2 rooms with 2 booking numbers and at times one of the bookings will not show up so I have to re-enter it.
  19. Miss your designated hour time slot? Sorry, no cruise for you. 🤣
  20. If the AARP gift card is a Carnival gift card you can redeem it online when you purchase Cheers. One of the payment options at checkout will be for a gift card.
  21. Most beers are tall boys. I got a Frost Buddy that will fit most any size can (regular, slim, tall boy, bottle, etc.) https://frostbuddy.com/collections/universal-buddy-2-0-collection?gclid=CjwKCAjwqZSlBhBwEiwAfoZUIHnxyXVxOgC4RjClx1cVxRIwfeTWje-HCaXPbbph4EV-pDWWNHbdyhoCcfMQAvD_BwE&tw_adid=643169390094&tw_campaign=19005314620&tw_source=google
  22. They should have a trivia contest at night in addition to the ones in the mornings or afternoons. That could really be interesting. One ship had an 80s name that tune at 7:00 p.m. in the lobby. It was a blast.
  23. We purchase Carnival gift cards from Kroger all the time, and usually during the 4x points promotions. For a $500 gift card, you get 2000 points. 1000 points gets you $1 off a gallon of gas up to 35 gallons. The promotion is going on now in our area. We then redeem the card on the Carnival website to pay for the cruise, drink packages, etc. You can also use them on board at Guest Services. Very easy.
  24. Was your S&S card also platinum? On my next cruise I will become platinum 3 days in. Our check in date is 16 days out too.
  25. Same experience. The regular bartenders are good for any drink limited to liquor with soda, juice, or a premix. You can order the same drink from 2 different bartenders (even at the same bar) and they will be different. As others have said, go to Alchemy if you want a specialty cocktail. The bartenders there will even tell you if they cannot or are not sure how to make it.
