Some rooms, high up may afford a glimpse of the ship, but the Convention Center gets in the way a bit.

Does anyone have some suggestions for a simple activity the morning of the cruise? We will be at the Embassy Suites and want to board around noon. Can you get to the beach from this hotel or to a point to watch ships come in?

The boats arrive quite early, between 5am - 6am. You can see them from the 17th Street causeway bridge viewing platform a short walk from the Embassy Suites. For the beach I'd suggest a $6 taxi for the 5 minute ride from ES. Go early, catch one of our fantastic sunrises. ;)
