Victoria port car rental

Is there anywhere to rent cars near the port in Victoria? If so, what companies are there?

All of the major rental companies are in Victoria. If you book in advance,

most of them will arrange to either have the car at the dock or meet

you with a shuttle to the pick-up site.

Has anyone every done this while in port? It seems a bit cheaper than taxi rides to some of the places.

A lot depends on how long the ship is in port. Many of the Victoria stops

are quite short, so people tend to use ship's excursions to be sure of

getting back on time. Also, a lot depends on what you want to see.

Butchart Gardens is very popular but is a 45 minute drive each way

from the cruise terminal. Downtown, on the other hand, is in easy

walking distance and has lots to see and do. IF the ship is in for most of

the day, a rental car is a good way to go to catch the most popular

sites/sights.
