Using 125% future cruise credit

Has anyone attempted to use your future cruise credit. How did you do it. I called MSC qand the guy had know idea how to apply the credit. He told me to book a cruise without putting anything down which I have no idea how to do that. Then mail in the certificate. Nothing he said sounded correct. Any suggestions.
