Mexican Riviera Sportfishing

We are booked on the Jan 20, 2007 Mexican Riviera Cruise on the Oosterdam (WHOOHOO!!!). My husband wanted me to ask if anyone who has done this cruise has ever done one of the Deep Sea Sportfishing Excursions? If so, your opinion would be appreciated.

We did it last Apr in Cabo. By the time you get tendered into port and get your fishing license and get on a boat and out to sea, it really is too late in the day for the fish to bite. When we went there were five boats that went out with four passengers each. We were the lucky ones as there was actually a fish hooked for all of maybe a minute before it got away - never even saw it surface. The other boats didn't even get that excitment. Now it was a pleasant day to ride around on a small boat in the Pacific but other then that it wasn't really worth it to us. JMHO.:(
