Looloo19 Posted April 9, 2020 #1 Share Posted April 9, 2020 We were on the Spirit, Dubai to Cape Town, sail date 3/3/20. Due to the escalating threat of Coronavirus, we were not allowed to dock anywhere after Muscat, and spent 16 days at sea before disembarking at Cape Town and being transported directly to the airport. We received a letter in our cabin to say we would be entitled to a 50% refund and 75% discount on a future cruise. Since returning home we have received no further conformation of this. There is a refund form on their website, but this is only for cruises that were cancelled after 13 March. Does anyone know how we can apply for the refund? bluesea777 Posted April 9, 2020 #2 Share Posted April 9, 2020 (edited) Was the cruise paid via credit card? If so, check the credit card statement for the 50% refund. It will be 50% of the Guest fare only. We were on Spirit, Rome to Dubai - the cruise before yours - and it was shortened so we received 25% refund. The cruise was Feb 11 but postponed to Feb 14, and we were informed on Feb 5. Two credits were applied to our cc, one on Feb 14 and other on Feb 17. NCL did not notify us when they applied the credits. P.S. your sail date was 3/2/2020 - it was the day we disembarked in Dubai. Looloo19 Posted April 9, 2020 Author #3 Share Posted April 9, 2020 Hi, thanks for your reply. Yes we did pay by credit card. I check the account daily, and as yet no refund has been received.
