San Pedro Luggage Storage

We're arriving at the LA Cruise Port in San Pedro in October, group of 5 with luggage.  We want to visit the Uss Iowa nearby.  One possibility is that we could take a shuttle to pick up our rental in Long Beach (nothing available in San Pedro except Enterprise for twice the price), then drive back to the Iowa before going into LA for overninght stay prior to our next day flight.  But is there anywhere near the port where we could leave our luggage while we visit Iowa instead?  Then shuutle to rental and be on our way.  Or do you have a better suggestion?

My best suggestion is have one person walk off the ship at the first opportunity, catch an Uber to the Long Beach car rental and return. The rest can stay on board, have breakfast and disembark normally. It would make little sense to have all 5 go to Long Beach with luggage and come back.
