Elderly Couple w/ family

My in-laws, 80+, are talking about a LAST cruise. They have always gone on Royal Carribean in the past but they want their kids and grand-kids to all go on this one. Not all of their families can afford Royal Caribbean, would they enjoy a Western Carribean cruise on Carnival?

Yes, I think they would be fine. I've done several Carnival cruises, and three times we've had a couple 70+ at our dinner table and they had a great time. Just be sure not to book during Spring break--I made that mistake one year, it's a whole different ballgame then!

I can tell you that my parents are older and they really like Carnival. We took them on the Majesty of the Seas a few years back and while they enjoyed their cruise they still prefer Carnival over RCI. Maybe it is a matter of what you are used to. Which ship are you looking to book? I would stick with one of the newer ships. They have more of the bells and whistles. Something to satisfy all ages.

Thanks for your input, we've done RCC and Celebrity, found Celebrity boring, but have wanted to try Carnival. I'm going to to pass all comments on to my in-laws and let them decide, I JUST WANT TO GET ON A SHIP!

We are taking my 70ish parents on their FIRST cruise on the Conquest. Sort of a family reunion type deal. We chose that sailing because we can all drive to New Orleans and save the air fare. We are from the Dallas area and the rest of the family is from the Little Rock or Jonesboro area. If you are concerned about the cost--maybe driving to New Orleans from Rogers would also work for you.

Did you check pricng already? When I sailed on the Voyager is was 100pp less then a Carnival Cruise.

Price will depend on when you want to go.

My parents are well into their 70's enjoyed the cruises on the Carnival lines. It waws a vacation that was very relaxing.
