kurukthemal Posted May 14, 2020 #1 Share Posted May 14, 2020 We are well past the first 30 days of the potential "up to 90 days" refund timeline by NCL. I am curious if anyone has received their money yet? Cheers and happy future sailings!
CRAZYQ Posted May 14, 2020 #2 Share Posted May 14, 2020 Not as of yet... I did fill out the refund request form on April 13th.
Robert & Debra Posted May 14, 2020 #3 Share Posted May 14, 2020 I filled out the form on the 13th as well. Yesterday a cruise consultant left me a voice mail asking if I made a decision on getting a refund or taking the fcc. I guess the they don't have access to that information or he is hoping to change our minds.
Rare BSR Posted May 14, 2020 #4 Share Posted May 14, 2020 I filled out the form in March and still waiting for my refund.
tgloersen Posted May 14, 2020 #5 Share Posted May 14, 2020 Filled out the form and disputed with CC company, for some reason i just don't trust them to get my funds returned. And 90 days is ridiculous! JetBlue cancelled my associated flights and they returned my funds in less than 14 days!
AK Dreaming Posted May 14, 2020 #6 Share Posted May 14, 2020 I filled out one April 13th and another May 7th. If it really is just taking so long due too the amount of refunds, shouldn't they start trickling out? I mean they should have gotten at least a few done since March? Catchum Posted May 14, 2020 #7 Share Posted May 14, 2020 Yes we have our refund - actually several days ago but have just seen it on our credit card statement. This was a 50% refund for a disrupted cruise which finished on the 22nd March so a little less than 2 months.
Cruising Chuck Posted May 14, 2020 #8 Share Posted May 14, 2020 Our cruise on the Bliss on March 15 was obviously cancelled, and after the 28th, I was able to fill out my refund request. Did so promptly, and got a CHEESY AF reply of we received your request.....no email comfirmation or any type of number, just We recieved your request reply screen after I submitted........STILL NOTHING. I have called and the lady said, well sir, you are only at about the 45 day mark, you still need to wait at least 45 more days.....*****. Horrible Customer service, and I realize it was not her doing specifically.....but I feel the company needs to better equip their employees with more legitimate information. MARK1970 Posted May 14, 2020 #9 Share Posted May 14, 2020 On the 18th will be 60 days since filling out refund request form for cancellation of April 6th Cruise. I spoke with someone yesterday at NCL and she said it is taking close to 90 days if your cruise was paid in full.

I did the same once my cruise date was here and gone(may2nd). I explained everything to my CC (BOA NCL CC) customer service And they credited my account the next day. I don’t want FCC as they are bumping up the prices on future cruises. I tried to book the same cruise for may2021 and it would have been 1000.00 more even with the 25% more fcc and 20% off. screw NCl and jacking fares up to recoup. I’ll wait till they need people to cruise and drop their fares again. till then my RC cruise outta Puerto Rico in Jan 2021 will have to do. mnsweeps Posted May 14, 2020 #11 Share Posted May 14, 2020 Waiting since March 6th when I cancelled. Way past 66 days now. Disputed with AMEX and Chase .. Amex made their credit permanent few days back. Waiting on Chase to make temporary credits permanent. No refund in sight from NCL.
tomk3212 Posted May 14, 2020 #12 Share Posted May 14, 2020 We also put in our request on April 13th and got an email acknowledgment from NCL but no $$ as of yet. Based on our experience with getting compensation $$ out of NCL from last years's abbreviated TA on the Getaway I'm not expecting the $$ any time soon! And, yes, 90 days IS way too long to wait but you really can't compare NCL's refund policies to the airline's refund policies for one BIG reason; the airlines got bail-out money courtesy of Uncle Sam, the cruise lines didn't. When American Airlines canceled my return flight from Rome, Priceline called me offered me either a refund or future credit from AA. I took the refund and the $$ was in my credit card account in 2 days. I'm hoping now that NCL has obtained additional financing and is, supposedly, able to operate for 18 months without cruises that they expedite cancelled cruise refunds. However I'm not holding my breath....lol
TIMK Posted May 14, 2020 #13 Share Posted May 14, 2020 I was booked through Costco travel .I canceled April 21 credit card refunded April 25. I was looking forward to seeing the Panama Canal . Maybe next year. Tim
FranknBeans Posted May 14, 2020 #14 Share Posted May 14, 2020 Amex got after NCL and there is now a cheque in the mail from Amex. This process took 2 weeks after NCL said 90 days. The NCL is bs. Just call your credit card company. I cancelled a casino cruise when the rumours started as I had booked from Canada so no coverage if they had stopped payments. I only ask because I also booked via Costco, NCL cancelled the cruise, I requested a cash refund via NCL. Costco basically instructed me to deal directly with NCl for cash back. And for what it's worth I also filed with my credit card. And I had a call from NCL asking me if we were using our FCCs or requested cash back 3 weeks after we filed for cash back w/NCL. julig22 Posted May 14, 2020 #17 Share Posted May 14, 2020 I got my deposit back on the Alaska cruise that NCL cancelled before final payment - something their system is set up to do. It only took a couple of weeks. Haven't gotten anything back except CNs (and temporary FCC) on the cruise I'd be on right now -that refund request was put in about a month ago.
