swindy Posted June 12, 2020 #1 Share Posted June 12, 2020 Can anybody explain why our cruise on the Silver Wind departing on 17th May 2021 is no longer visible on their website even if I click on Show Waitlist? The following cruise on 31st May is still showing despite being on Waitlist......
Observer Posted June 12, 2020 #2 Share Posted June 12, 2020 (edited) Perhaps it has been chartered. Apparently there are a number of weeks with no cruises listed as available in May 2021. Could it be related to dry dock/renovation? I know there has been some discussion on these boards about Wind dry dock, but I have not followed that discussion. I have spent many happy days on Wind/Cloud but now I prefer the larger ships. Edited June 12, 2020 by Observer

The following cruise on 31st May is still showing despite being on Waitlist...... Hi swindy, Two Silver Wind cruises departing in May 2021 have been chartered and reconfigured. I was supposed to be on one of them (Lisbon to London Tower), and our booking was cancelled because of the charter. We were offered the choice of several options for rebooking, and ultimately we chose a Cloud expedition in June as a replacement. I urge you to check in with your travel agent or Silversea agent right away.
swindy Posted June 12, 2020 Author #5 Share Posted June 12, 2020 Hi Unibok Thanks for the info. I assume you were on the cruise before us as ours is Tower Bridge/Tower Bridge on the 17th May? When were you advised about this? Thanks
swindy Posted June 12, 2020 Author #6 Share Posted June 12, 2020 May I also ask if you were offered any compensation for the inconvenience? i would be extremely upset about not doing our cruise
Unibok Posted June 12, 2020 #7 Share Posted June 12, 2020 Hi swindy, My recollection of the dates was a bit off, but here is what I found in my records: On April 30 we were informed by our SS agent that our 5 May expedition was cancelled due to charters. We were offered the chance to rebook one or both of 2 reconfigured ones: 11 - 21 May or 21 - 31 May. I see now that none of those options are currently listed on the SS website. Yours, the waitlisted one, is the first one after that gap from 5 May to 31 May. Interesting! Sometimes a waitlist is truly a waitlist, and this seems plausible since it follows a stretch of the Wind being unavailable. If I were you, I would still call a travel person for some peace of mind (I have done that in the past and gotten honest answers). For our trouble, they offered us several choices: any expedition with a 10% discount, the 2 new combined voyages with a 20% discount, or a full refund. We were actually happy to rebook on a different expedition, so it worked out for us. Hoping a waitlist is just a waitlist,
