FCD's -- Refunds possible?

Has anyone tried to obtain a refund on a Future Cruise Credit of US$300, with expiration date

a year or so in the future?  Given current circumstances, can Cunard ethically refuse to honour a request to cancel and refund an FCD?

I think the terms and conditions vary among countries of residence. From what I have read, the FCD for UK residents has a short expiration (one year?) and is not refundable. We (USA residents) made an FCD in 2017, which had a four-year expiration date and was fully refundable if unused during that time period. We did not try to obtain a refund prior to expiration...Actually, we applied it to a voyage next summer (2021)...so I do not know if that would have been possible.
