Had a Princess rep call looking to book us with a cruise. Pricing is way higher for 7 day to Mexico in 2021 vs 2020. Cruising is not on our list for a vacation until a vaccine is available. For us cruising needs to be the way it used to be.

Yes, we’ve noticed the increased pricing as well. I believe the cruise lines will need to charge more to make up for this years losses that are still happening without an official end date in sight. Plus social distancing on a ship???? How’s that going to happen? 

 

I think some people will move to other vacation options and some will hope that cruising on their preferred cruise line continues if that lines doesn’t go out of business.

 

I think for now, life as we know it has changed. Work is changing, school is changing, travel is changing. There are many unknowns right now, and everyone has different thresholds of acceptance to the new norms.

Cruise fares are always higher for the next year’s cruises.  We book at the higher fare to get the cabin we want,  then we look for sales.  Sometimes we’re lucky.  Sometimes the fares only go up higher.

I had this conversation with my vacation planner today and he said the increase in prices is due to the demand for 2021 and 2022.  I personally think the prices are higher because we all have FCC sitting in our accounts from Princess cancelled cruises.
