*~Crown & Anchor Members~* TELL ALL!!

Recommended Posts

Hi, I'm a proud crown and Anchor member! You would think I've been for ages, but really this is my second cruise. I was just wondering what to expect on my next cruise. I know they said we have a party or something, but has anyone experienced one of these parties? What should I expect?

Thanks in advance!!

If you go to rccl.com and then pick crown and anchor and then benefits you'll see the list of benefits reflected for the number of rccl cruises you've taken.

The biggest benefit for us with our measley 3 rccl cruises was the coupon book that you get on the first night. Free Cover charge coupon for Johnny rockets (1 per c&a member).

We never did find out when the welcome back party was :(

There will be a party in the late afternoon with drinks and appetizers (or at least that's what's been done in the past). You'll also get a book of coupons in your cabin - usually you'll get to do the wine tasting free, plus get casino coupons, discounts in the shops and so on. You'll also get a gift (likely a tote bag or something like that) at the end of the cruise.

Have fun!

SuzyQ, I've been meaning to ask you: how did my cat get into your avatar? Yours is a dead ringer for my Natasha (and yes, she has a son named Boris)!

The C&A perks are nice when you're Gold, but wait until you get to Platinum (5 cruise credits) - in addition to what's already listed, you get a discount if you book a balcony or above cabin ($50 and up depending on the length of the cruise, it's per cabin, not per C&A member), better coupons (free drinks, specialty coffees or ice cream instead of 2 for 1, for example), a Platinum/Diamond reception that can be a brunch on sea days or a cocktail party with the senior staff, priority embarkation so you can breeze to the front of the line on day 1, and a separate lounge to relax in on disembarkation day until you have to get off the ship for good. At Diamond (10 cruise credits), you get all of the above except that the discounts start at $100, the coupons are even better, you get some goodies in your cabin like chocolate covered strawberries or a fruit & cheese plate, priority tendering in ports and priority disembarkation at the end of the cruise. I won't be able to report on Diamond Plus (24 cruise credits) goodies until sometime in 2007.

Note that I said "cruise credits," not just "cruises." If you book a JS or higher, you get 2 credits in your C&A account. If you book 12 nights or longer (including cruisetours), you get 2. Maximum of 3 credits (JS for 12 nights is 3, for example). So you can build those credits quickly if you just spend lots of money, LOL.

Enjoy your cruise(s)!

There were two coupon books in our cabin when we arrived. We each got a RCCL tote bag. We got an extra cruise credit for staying in a JS. Our welcome back party was in the evening; complimentary rum punch and hors d'ouevres, music & dancing, a few words from the captain.

I am a gold c&a member and on the Navigator last Jan we each got a coupon book, toiletry (which I heard now is a tote) bag and the welcome back party which was right before dinner (early dinner) with any standard drink (rum and coke, beer, whiskey sour) free and hors derves (sp?). They give away gifts for the people with the most cruises etc... Captain says a word and you mingle for a while and its over.

We just finished our first platinum cruise. Priority boarding was great! Our gift on the Splendour was one of those three section toiletry bags that can folded up for packing or hung up in the bathroom for easy access. (One for each of us.) We got tote bags on the Rhapsody in October. We did get a nice invitation to the special Platinum/Diamond party, but were too lazy to attend. (This was a much needed resting getaway.) The levels in the Platinum coupon booklet did seem higher than those in our previous gold booklet. Our robes arrived the first night - we were in an OV. There was another nice note waiting in our room about enjoying these.

Hummmm Casino credit- DH will enjoy that perk.

Thanks for the info, I am now really excited, I love free stuff. (Who doesn't.)

I'm excited for free stuff and coupons too! Our first cruise as C&A members will also be on the Serenade, but we have to wait 5 more months than you. :(

Hey Judi, your DH can have my casino coupon. We won't use it. Neither my best friend nor I gamble (I've been once, won big time, and figured that's the total of my luck for my entire life).

Wrona,

Thanks, well Doug will thank you! ;) Fifteen minutes in the casino and I am bored, but DH likes to play the slots. I guess I go to the spa and lay in the sun, he plays the slots and Blackjack so not a bad trade.

He does share his winnings too, that is nice when he hands we $$$ to buy something (jewelry) at the next port. Hope he is lucky this cruise!!

See you soon.

and RCCL outdoes Celebrity by a million in keeping us happy. FREE cappucino, latte, expresso on RCCL - $4 a cup, no refills, on Celebrity, FREE booze for 3 hours, just watered down stuff on server's trays at Captain's Welcome & Elite party on Celebrity. Cannot order what I want (Cosmopolitan) just told you can have wine, a screwdriver or a mai tai that isn't even close with no rum in it!
