Deposit refund

Does anyone know if deposit refund can go back to another credit card after cancelation?

Hi we recently got a refund for flights and asked for it to be refunded to a bank account rather than the card used for payment--they said no. Previously asked for a refund to go to a different card as account was closed and was told no we would have to notify the card co a payt was coming and they redirect to a bank a/c. Your best bet is to ask.

No it goes on the one you used.... I just found this out yesterday from our TA :)

Our refund went back to cc that had been replaced twice due to fraud; however, since we still had a Citibank card, it was applied to the new one.

I’ve had some banks have trouble with routing this without help, but it’s still the same account. The number gets changed but from the banks perspective, still the same.
