anything special done for new year's?

we'll be on the sun departing new yr's eve from NOLA (lord willing). have anyone cruised on new yr's eve- do they do anything special? will reservations be required (can the concierge help with this)? will the kids' program be open late for new yr's eve?

 

any info is appreciated!

We were on the Jewel NY's eve. There was a good show in the Stardust Lounge and beginning about 10:30 they had parties going on out by the pool, up in the lounge (forgot the name - it's like a night club) and I think one other place. We went to one out by the pool. They filled the hot tubs with ice and loaded them with champaign bottles.

 

There was dancing, hats and noisemakers and about 10 min before midnight they started handing out free champaign. Very festive.
