WaldosPepper Posted February 11, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 11, 2006 Matt, you posted these questions on Shoreguy's blog thread, but I thought it best to answer them off that thread. Let's keep that one all about his trip. ;) Shoreguy... I cannot wait to read your blogs. Does anyone who has been on the Dawn know how luggage works? NCL doesn't provide tags ahead of time... so do porters not take the bags from the cabs? Are the bags checked when we check in? (Our friends will be on this sailing.) Also, how has NCL handled snow storms in the past? Do they wait for flights?... what if flights into the NY area are canceled? Thanks and enjoy! -Matt NCL does provide luggage tags if you get traditional documents. If your TA requests e-docs instead, you will have to get your luggage tags at the pier. The porters will have them, and you'll have to fill in the necessary cabin and name info at that time. This will be done at the curb, not at the check-in counter. Regarding flights - if the flights have been booked through NCL, and will be arriving within a reasonable timeframe, they will wait for those flights. If the flights were not booked through NCL, and the departure time has come, the ship will depart providing conditions are safe to do so. That's why it's always best to arrive the day prior to sailing! ;) Hope this helps.
