Voyager Posted February 12, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Someone that I know that recently sailed RCCL said they give you tokens instead of change when you get some money from the cage. Is that true?

Alexis Posted February 12, 2006 #3 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Someone that I know that recently sailed RCCL said they give you tokens instead of change when you get some money from the cage. Is that true? I have always received good old American money. NEVER tokens. I have also never seen a machine that even takes tokens. The only thing that comes close is did they request chips for the tables, or did they give a coupon for a chip bet?
Voyager Posted February 12, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Thanks Alexis, I have cruised RCCL a ton of times and didnt think they would start using tokens. Thanks again.

Merion_Mom Posted February 12, 2006 #9 Share Posted February 12, 2006 Good for you, Voyager, because that person is WRONG. The only thing that I can think of is that s/he doesn't know what poker chips look like!!!!!!!!!!!!! But, you only get the chips from the dealer, so maybe s/he was "overserved", as they say?!?!?!?!? ;)
FunCruiser56 Posted February 12, 2006 #10 Share Posted February 12, 2006 We got cash, but the dollar/$5 coins are tokens dispensed out of the slots. You can then turn them in for $$. Funcruiser

Funcruiser What ship was that on, Funcruiser? My slot machines have always regurgitated quarters. Lots and lots and lots of quarters. :)
FunCruiser56 Posted February 12, 2006 #12 Share Posted February 12, 2006 We were on the Brilliance- DH plays the $1 machines and they paid off in dollar tokens and one of our friend played the $5 machine with a token left by someone else- she won 4 $5 tokens and cashed it in! I won big on a quarter machine and it paid off in $100 bills handed over to me by the casino manager.....LOL.... On the Navigator it also paid $1 tokens in the dollar slots, my DH brought one home and had a hole cut in the center of it and put in a gold dollar coin. It is his 'lucky' coin now. Merion_Mom Posted February 13, 2006 #13 Share Posted February 13, 2006 Ah, that explains it. I have never played "above" a quarter machine. Chicken. :)

CruiseBoy48 Posted February 13, 2006 #15 Share Posted February 13, 2006 :D Well after giving RCI all my Money over the past week, I can say that On the Mariner, the payouts for slots used a few different coins and tokens. For Penny and Nickel and Quarter slot and video machines the payout was in US Quarters. For Dollar Slots the payout was in special 1 dollar tokens that can be exchanged for real money in the Change booth. For 5 dollar Slots they too had a Special Token that could be exchanged for Real Money in the Change Booth. Good Luck. ;)
