avw Posted June 20, 2004 #1 Share Posted June 20, 2004 We are considering booking a Concierge Class cabin on the Summit 11/26 sailing. I'd love to hear if others found the Concierge class worth the extra cost.
PatC Posted June 20, 2004 #2 Share Posted June 20, 2004 We have done concierge on Summit and loved it. If the cost isn't too much more, go for it if you enjoy a pillow menu, great, soft beds, flowers in the bath and cabin, fresh fruit every day, canapes (small but okay) every day, champagne in the cabin upon arrival. Our steward chilled it for us and when we didn't drink it right away, placed it in the frig. The best part was priority tendering and some special events for concierge. All in all, we loved it and are booked on Summit next March in the same category. Again, it's all a matter of what you would like. We don't particulary need a butler and this was a great alternative. tuggers Posted June 20, 2004 #3 Share Posted June 20, 2004 I loved the pillowtop mattress and the fact that I don't have to take my own down pillow! Unfortunately, I had kind of a bummer of a cabin attendant so service was not up to par. The special in room breakfast items are nice, too. Going on CENTURY! Third X Cruise In Four Months! mad4cruising Posted June 21, 2004 #4 Share Posted June 21, 2004 I am also considering concierge class on the Constellation. I would appreciate it if you would be willing to answer these questions: 1) Are the flowers changed daily? 2) What are the special extended room service items? 3) Does room service come with the tablecloth service that the website shows? 4) what are some of the special events offered to CC guests? 5) How early can cc passengers embark? 6) Is pressing service included, or is it just priority? Thanks so much, in advance, for taking the time to answer these questions! 5)
tuggers Posted June 21, 2004 #5 Share Posted June 21, 2004 I'll do my best to answer what I remember.\ 1. Flowers are changed as needed but not each day 2. I don't remember all the items, but just a few, there was a special section of juices that were fresh squeezed (and they were delicious), french toast w/marmalade butter, baked bananas, 3 types of smoothies, cavier but that was $45, lots of different meats. There was a full 2 pages and everything I had was great! 3. They bring in a table that fits over the glass topped table in all the rooms and it is covered with a cloth. This might be different if you had a balcony but my cabin didn't. 4. I was on another special list so I don't know if the things I got invited to were because of it or because of CC. I'll let someone else answer this one. 5. I was onboard by 11, but room was not ready until about 12:30 6. The cost is not included although they do an excellent job and I use them for pressing now that I know how cheap and good the service is. Going on CENTURY! Third X Cruise In Four Months! judyfssw Posted June 21, 2004 #6 Share Posted June 21, 2004 My cabin steward said that she would never work in a Concierge Class rooms. She said that the stewards have 16 rooms that they're responsible for plus some regular rooms. I don't know if that was the reason that the room service wasn't as good or whether it's because Celebrity gives those rooms to new people because regular staff don't want all of the extra work. MoonBaby Posted June 21, 2004 #8 Share Posted June 21, 2004 Thinking about booking on the Constellation next summer and trying to decide between CC and a Sky Suite. Is the only difference you get a butler with the Sky Suite and not with the CC cabin? Are all the other perks the same? *******Proud member of O.A.T.C.****** 6/2004 Carnival Miracle 2nd Anniversary 6/2003 Carnival Legend 1st Anniversary 6/2002 Celebrity Mercury Honeymoon
PatC Posted June 21, 2004 #9 Share Posted June 21, 2004 We were on Summit in CC and it was great. Our steward was extremely helpful and attentive. He was right there when we needed him and we were given everything we requested right on time. Yes, if you have a balcony the table is set with a linen tablecloth and flowers! As I stated the best part was priority tendering. We were also the first on board with suites. Even Elite (which we are also) were after the CC cabins. Just the little extra touches were special and if you get a great steward you'll be even happier. If they do convert all 1's to CC the stewards can't complain. They'll be well prepared or at least ready for the additional work, and it didn't seem that much more. They did deliver the canapes each afternoon but that was about all that should have been different in the service.
