mikethedog Posted February 13, 2006 #1 Share Posted February 13, 2006 Does anyone know if you have to book Rose Island through a company? Can you just go to the island and snorkel on the reef? If you can just go to the island and snorkel, how would you get there? Thank you!

It's a privately owned island, and companies need a permit ($$$) (plus pay per head) for use of the island. It's a 30 minute Boat ride from downtown. There are plenty of tours that go there. Sea Island, Flying Cloud, Barefoot Cruises, Seahorse and Robinson Crusoe all have daily tours.

mikethedog Posted February 17, 2006 Author #4 Share Posted February 17, 2006 Ok. One more question and I'll be through with the snorkeling part... I understand there is a jetty at a public beach in Nassau (cable or cabbage - I can't remember which). Are there colorful fish one could view while snorkeling there?
